Welcome to the Interdisciplinary Senior Engineering Design Celebration!

The University of Delaware boasts one of the premier capstone engineering design programs in the country, and this year’s class certainly builds on our reputation. Our senior students showed tremendous grit, creativity, and planning in completing this year’s program, which was one of the few undergraduate courses permitted to utilize on-campus resources during this Fall 2020 term that was drastically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are tremendously grateful for our project sponsors, many of whom were similarly impacted by the pandemic but nonetheless partnered with the UD Departments of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering to provide our students with this real-world, hands-on capstone design experience. With the support of our dedicated faculty, staff, and sponsors, our students tackled the Grand Challenges of Engineering, from sustainability to healthcare and security involving technology from a wide range of disciplines, including automotive, aerospace, robotics, physical therapy, medical device design, and manufacturing.

In this day-long virtual event, students will present their final engineering solutions to their sponsors, a panel of external evaluators, and to our visitors, alumni, and friends. We invite you to attend these live Technical Presentations as well as view the work of all of our teams at your leisure in the Project Gallery. Please also join us for the Awards Ceremony webinar at the conclusion of the event.
