Global Engineering
In today’s increasingly complex and interconnected world, innovative engineers and computer scientists with the soft skills to work in cross-cultural environments will be in high demand by employers. Study abroad in more than 40 countries for a semester or special session or become a World Scholar to incorporate global experiences from your first semester to graduation.
Although these change slightly from year to year, typical engineering program offerings include:
Australia – CIEG 351-070: Transportation Engineering; CIEG 402: Introduction to Sustainability Principles in Civil Engineering; CHEG 420: Biochemical Engineering; CHEG 467: Project Design & Engineering
Dubai – CIEG 486-070: Engineering Project Management; CIEG 492-070: International Construction
Spain – MSEG 201-071: Material Science for Engineers; PHYS 143-071: Energy Technology and Society; HIST 339-071: Topics in European History
London – CPEG 467-070: Internet of Things; ELEG 467-070: Digital Photography
New Zealand – CISC 355: Computers, Ethics, and Society; CISC 367: Computer Science Learning Game Development

German for Engineering certificate
Offered by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, this certificate helps engineering students gain specialized language skills for technical fields, including vocabulary, grammar, and professional communication. By emphasizing practical language use and cultural understanding during Study Abroad in Leipzig, students will gain a competitive edge in the global job market.
Engineers Without Borders
Engineers Without Borders-USA is a non-profit, humanitarian organization of dedicated and enthusiastic students and professionals who believe everyone should have access to adequate sanitation, safe drinking water, and resources to meet their basic needs. Once identifying a problem, our chapter at University of Delaware works closely with an international community and professional engineers to develop and implement a sustainable solution. Our completed projects include a potable water supply in Cameroon and a bridge in Guatemala. We are currently partnered with communities in Malawi and the Philippines to improve their access to clean water. Visit our Projects page to learn more.
