The Medical Devices Laboratory is situated at the division of Biomedical Engineering, University of Cape Town, South Africa and headed by Associate Professor Sudesh Sivarasu. The lab, built on the principles of FrugalBiodesign™ focuses on creating appropriate and affordable health technologies for unmet clinical needs which are very unique to developing countries. This multi-award winning lab has produced a number of medical technologies such as reScribe, Laxmeter, PatRig, OpenSource Ptosis Crutches, Zibipen, Easysqueezy and now the FlexiGyn platform. If chosen for this project, you will be working with the laboratory and the clinicians at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital.
