Dr. Knight’s research focuses on understanding changes in mobility that occur due to normal aging and Parkinson’s disease, as well as the effect of specialized exercise strategies to promote mobility. His lab has developed a custom device to achieve high quality recordings of force, position and velocity signals while minimizing electrical noise that contaminate simultaneous recordings of surface electromyography (EMG) and indwelling (multichannel needle) EMG.
