Amass in a sea of mysterious bubbles, lay three lone tubes: the subject of our research. These porous structures are bacterially produced Iron Oxides. Where our biomass samples normally contain hoards of these tubes, in this sample they were seemingly overwhelmed by the swell of the bubbles, which we have not yet been able to identify.
