Events celebrate wonders of engineering

The University of Delaware will join organizations across the country in celebrating National Engineers Week, Feb. 18-24.

Engineers Week is aimed at expanding awareness about how engineering improves the world, from the clean drinking water we consume to the cars we drive. It’s also an opportunity for outreach to the next generation of engineers. This year’s theme is “Engineers: Inspiring Wonder.”

Activities at UD will include a dodgeball tournament, speed mentoring, opening reception and carnival, Texas Hold’em, Order of the Engineers Ring Ceremony, broomball, build-a-thon challenge, Delaware Engineering Society 2018 EWeek Banquet, Inspiring the Engineers of Tomorrow event for elementary school students, and EWeek Student Banquet & Silent Auction.

UD’s participation in Engineers Week is supported by the College of Engineering (COE), COE student organizations, UD K-12 Engineering, the Delaware Association of Professional Engineers (DAPE), the Delaware Council of Engineering Societies (DCES), DowDuPont™, and JPMorgan Chase Co.
