Chemical Engineering Awards
April 21, 2017 - Three chemical engineering students and one alumnus recently won awards from the Delaware Valley Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Sophomore Harrison Landfield, junior Victoria Muir, and senior John Saltwick won Outstanding Student awards, which recognize chemical engineering students in the Delaware Valley who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, professionalism, leadership, interest and promise in the successful application of an engineering education. The nominees are appointed by the faculty of their university. Nickolas Martin, who earned his bachelor's degree in 2016, won an Outstanding Alumni Award. The award recognizes the contributions of alumni to their universities, the profession, and professional organizations and encourages these contributions especially among recent graduates. Martin, who is now chief operating officer at InstaSolar Energy LLC, served as an undergraduate researcher, intern, peer mentor, tutor, and engineering camp assistant during his time at UD. The awards were presented at the 2017 Academic Awards Banquet, which was held at UD on April 11.
